Encova Endowed Scholars Fund

Awards are to benefit students who are in good academic standing with the University. Special consideration will be given to students who meet specific criteria. (a) Children of parents who are from WV and have either a PTD (permanent total disability) or have passed away from a work related injury. (b) children or grandchildren of employees or agents who have a direct appointment from Encova.
SELECTION: A selection committee comprised of BrickStreet (now Encova) employees and representatives of West Virginia State University will determine the award recipients annually.

AWARD CRITERIA: It is the Donor’s wish for this scholarship to be awarded to up to twenty (20) students annually. Students from WV will be eligible for scholarships of up to $3,000; students from out of state will be eligible for scholarships of up to $6,000. Scholarship awards shall be based on the following preferred criteria:

A. Three (3) scholarships (or 15% of the available award) should be awarded to students whose parents are from WV and have either a PTD (permanent total disability) or are deceased as the result of a work related injury (fatal award).

B. Up to six (6) scholarships (or 30% of the available award) should be awarded to students who are children or grandchildren of employees of BrickStreet Mutual Insurance Company (now Encova).

C. Up to eleven (11) scholarships (or 55% of the available award) should be awarded to students with preference given to those majoring in business, computer science/information technology, mathematics, criminal justice and social sciences.
