Virgil Matthews Endowed Scholarship

The preferred candidate:
1. is an undergraduate member of the American Chemical Society, full-time student skeeping a degree in one of the sciences, and is in good academic standing with the University or demonstrates academic merit
2. Financial need may be a consideration
3. Dr. Micheal Fultz, Chair of the Chemistry Department and Advisor to the WVSU Chapter of the ACS, shall recommend recipients for this scholarship for as long as he serves on the faculty at West Virginia State University. When Dr. Fultz is no longer associated with WVSU, the Chair of the Department of Chemistry and Physics shall recommend students to receive this scholarship.
4. More than one scholarship may be granted in a single year.
5. A scholarship award may be renewed upon satisfactory progress by the recipient.
